Economic Woes!

America has been following a new premise, and the pleasures of life are at odds with the needs of life.  Did your socio-economic status slip based on the new line of measurement for middle class? 

Of concern to me is, as with many Americans, how/why so many volitle situations. Where were the elected officials and financial experts (our leaders)? ...Umm, were they really doing the job they were elected and hired to do?     

Our leaders are comprised of professional/educated experts entrusted with our well-being.  They are elected or appointed on platforms that are based on what is good for America and their constituents or clients. They make promises, that they rarely accomplish, are elected, and their own agenda rises to the top.

It is time for Americans to hold our leaders accountable for their promises, and if they choose to "not" make good on their promises, vote them out of office in the next election.

Our economic problem took time to grow to this proportion. We all know you don’t wake up obese…it is a slow process.  Why did our experts let America walk down the path of sure destruction; when early on other options surely should have been presented for consideration? What was/is the mindset?

The gap between the have and have not’s has grown to result in a new line of measurement being set, increasing the numbers of Americans finding themselves on the lower end of the socio-economic status.

Thus "Occupy America" protesting groups are springing up all over the United States.  One of the “Occupy America” websites expresses their efforts as “…aimed to expose how the richest 1% of people are writing the rules of an unfair global economy that is foreclosing on our future.”

Many constituents have become victims of America’s economic woes. Unfortunately, they did not have the same amount of time to prepare for a financial problem of this magnitude (i.e., reduce work hours, lay-offs, medical insurance rates, to homelessness).

Our leaders and financial experts need to regress in their minds and remember when ethics, values, moral fortitude, and your neighbor were important. The focus needs to be on sustaining a healthy America, not just those that now make up the 1%. Without the 99% (who currently really have the power) this world will loose ground...remember the 99% has the majority of the vote. All they have to do is show it at the voting polls.
